To Tell Or Not To Tell The Future…

There are no psychics who know the future with 100% accuracy because the future is constantly changed with our free will. We are choosing and making the future. However, the near future is relatively solid.

By analogy, think you are driving on I-5 north from Portland, Oregon. You are likely to arrive in Seattle. Considering the traffic condition, I can also predict the approximate time of your arrival. However, this is not 100% sure. You might change your plan and get off the freeway. Or there may be a terrible accident on the way that slows down the traffic badly, or it may even be closing the way. This is the effect of free will.

The prediction of the near future is relatively easier because the amount of the free will involved is limited.

So be cautious with psychics who talk about the future with absolutes. Either she doesn’t know what she is doing or she is trying to manipulate you.

How I discuss the future with my clients
When I talk about the future, I explain it as likely possibility. That is, if I do choose to tell the future to the client. How and how much I explain the future really depends on the client’s spiritual development and life situation.

Once, when I was doing a follow-up reading (so she already had the Akashic Record Reading — the first comprehensive profile reading — and was coming to me for a follow up), I was informed someone in her family would pass away soon. That was a difficult situation for me.

First, I gathered more information. And I figured it wasn’t her husband, nor her kids, nor her siblings, nor her parents . . . it was probably a relative who she considers as a family. I also gathered that, even thought this is a sad experience, she would grow further spiritually through this experience.

I knew she understood the power of free will. I also knew her spiritual awareness is such that she knows death is not the final end but only a transformational process. So I decided to let her know.

She was silent for a moment, then said, “Thank you” for letting her know to be prepared. A few months later, she emailed me it happened.

On the other hand, I admit I sometimes choose not to tell the future I would gather, or I might tone it down a little. At least in my practice, the information of the future usually comes as a warning sign, like a road sign that says, “Watch out, the driving ahead is a little tricky.” So when I am facing a client who is excited about their future even that they believe to be fantastic, things require a bit of diplomacy.

What it takes to deal with the future
And for those of you whose main interest in getting a reading is to learn about the future. Are you really ready to hear it? Do you have the strength and intelligence to hear the prediction that you don’t want to hear?

If you don’t, you may be setting yourself up for a panic. Or you may try so hard to avoid the unwanted future that you may be heading right that direction, like I described in my last article, about the Greek tragedies.

Okay, I have been using the word “free will” often. In the next post, I want to explore what it really is. Are you using your free will? Free will is the best gift from God to all of us.

Do You Want To Know About Your Future?

Throughout the history, people all over the world wished to know the future, to know what would happen in their lives. In the ancient time, we relied on the prophecies and oracles. These days, we check with psychics or check the astrology in the paper.

However, the challenge is whether you can utilize the knowledge of your future once you learn it. It’s very possible you get confused or shocked to the point you react in a counterproductive manner.

Think of the cases in ancient Greek tragedies.

One of the most famous Greek tragedies is the one about Oedipus. Oedipus was born as the heir of Thebes. The oracle of Delphi said, however, “This baby shall kill his father and marry his mother”. Terrified, the father abandons the baby in the wild.

Keep in mind that, in the ancient Greek, people believed they get into the destiny right when they resist it.

The abandoned baby was found and adopted by the childless king and queen of another acropolis. They raised Oedipus as if he was their real child. When he grew up, Oedipus was told by a stranger that he was not the biological son of the royal couple. Further, there was another oracle that told Oedipus “You shall bring death to your parents”. Confused, the young Oedipus leaves home, still believing his adoptive parents are what the oracle refers as his parents and hoping that his departure would prevent such catastrophe.

This is the second resistance to the oracle. Watch what happens.

Oedipus was a proud and brilliant man. While traveling, he kills a rude old man. Then he solves the riddle of Sphinx, saving the acropolis of Thebes. The people there were so grateful that they asked Oedipus to marry the newly widowed queen and become their new king. The queen was much older than Oedipus but still quite beautiful. They somehow felt close to each other and their marriage was a good one that produced four children.

Many years later, Oedipus had to find out the killer of the previous king. Eventually, he realizes it was the old man he himself killed on the way. Moreover, he learns the previous king and the queen had a son that received the horrible oracle, and realizes it was himself.

The oracle that Oedipus would kill his father and marry his mother had materialized. The queen is horrified and kills herself. Oedipus blinds himself and escapes the city.

If the king didn’t abandon the baby Oedipus, there was no way Oedipus would have killed him without even knowing it was his biological father. By resisting the oracle, he got himself into the destiny the oracle told.

Sorry for telling such a disturbing story. I am not quoting this story to tell you you should not resist destiny. I do think just learning about the future can be difficult, if not counterproductive. It doesn’t necessarily lead you to a better future.

The most important thing is you live well right now. Regardless you know your future or not.

Well, this is getting long, so I will write about the near future issue next time. Until then,
