What Is Free Will?
In the article “Your Future In The Akashic Records”, I wrote:
“When you really understand the power of your free will, you would have very few questions about your future. Ironically, that is when you can utilize the information about your future.”
It is essential to understand the idea of free will, so let me elaborate here.
My definition of free will
Free will is about freely choosing the path in the journey of your life. The analogy I used in “To Tell Or Not To Tell The Future. . .” of life as a road trip is quite literal. Before we incarnated, we chose some places and things we absolutely don’t want to miss (the destiny points) during this journey called life. We also chose some more places we’d love to visit if the situation allows.
There are not just one but multiple routes to move from one place to the next. You can choose from these multiple routes. This is the free will.
The shortest route is not necessarily the best route. You might want to choose the big roads that are easy to find and follow even if that route takes more mileage. Sometimes, you might want to take the back road with fantastic view. And in special cases, it’s fine to go extra miles to join with your friend.
The power of free will
There are multiple options in front of you. Which one do you choose? Life is made up with all these choices. Your free will to choose determines your life.
Please understand it is YOU who choose. Not your parents, non the common opinion, nor your spirit guides. (For more about spirit guides, please check this and this on my another blog, Real Life Spirituality.) Even when it looks as if your parent or boss chose for you, you chose to accept their decision. That was your choice based on your free will.
Free will is the best gift from God or the supreme being. You are born with the ability to make choices in your life. Free will is your birthright. Please use your free will fully.
What free will is not
Free will is about choosing the path from the multiple options in front of you. It’s not about choosing your destinations. That is about goal-setting or intention.
For example, someone might “choose” to be a millionaire or to get back to their ex. They might say, “Well, free will is about choosing my life as I please, and this is what I want.” and when their chosen wish does not materialize, they get upset saying, “I chose to be a millionaire! It was my free will!! So why the heck is it not happening? There is something wrong. (Often, they blame the Law of Attraction to be dysfunctional.)”
Well. . . the Law of Attraction works (I’ve written quite extensively on LoA. The link takes you to the most popular article on RLS) if you properly understand how to utilize it.
The problem here is that setting your destination is not about free will. I am not saying you shouldn’t want to become a millionaire or to get back with your ex. You can set your destination, or your goal. But that is not about free will.
Are you aware of the options in front of you?
Obviously, you cannot use your free will fully if you cannot see the options in front of you. It’s like not noticing the road signs or not knowing where to make a turn while you are on a road trip. That won’t be fun.
The trouble is, quite a lot of people don’t see all the options in front of them. If you are thinking in terms of choosing one or the other, like “Shall I quit my job or not?” “Shall I divorce / separate him / her or not?” , then you are not seeing the whole picture.
When you are fully aware, you see more than two options. Then you can choose which option works best for you, pondering the pros and cons of each choice.
The reason you don’t see all the available options is complex. Your conditioned thinking and the pattern you have learned in your life so far affect your perception.
Do you think it’s ridiculous or impossible not to notice something right in front of you? Then check out this video. It’s a famous one, so maybe you already have seen it, but if not, you’ll be amazed. . .
You missed something that is visibly right in front of you. So do yo think you might be missing the possible option in your life journey?
While we are talking about life as a journey, I’d like to write about the goal setting next time. Some goals are achievable. Some goals are misfit for you to begin with. Many Law of Attraction advocates encourage to set up high goals, but is it really okay to have super high goals?
