Use Your Prayer Muscle!
We are so hesitant to pray.
There are just too much baggage around prayers these days. The concern to be religiously correct. The whole questions about spirituality. And your personal doubt on how effective prayer may be.
So we stop praying. Or we just pray for really basic things like security. Or we offer gratitude and never ask for anything.
And your spirit guides get bored.
How practicing prayer is like practicing sports.
When we practice sports, we build muscles and communication routes in the nerves. Our muscles and nerves learn how to pass the message to get desired results. The more we practice, the better we get at this.
Likewise, when we pray often, we build invisible communication system between our conscious mind and the subconscious, and over to our Higher Power. They learn how to pass the message. The more we pray, the better we get at this.
Do’s and Don’ts of prayer.
Simply put, prayer is a request to our Higher Power. You can pray to divinity of a certain name, or just the Higher Power as you understand.
Do pray for yourself and others. Be clear and straightforward. The Universe is large and abundant, and it is absolutely okay to ask for what you sincerely desire. Further, you earn brownie points when you pray for others.
Don’t negotiate, bargain, or be apologetic. Don’t pray for anyone’s loss – that is more like a curse. And don’t be attached to the outcome.
The last one, “Don’t be attached to the outcome.” is a tough call. We, as we live in physical bodies, tend to think in a linear way and don’t really understand the whole miraculous working in the spiritual world. Our “vision” is limited. So it may be a good idea to end the prayer with a line like,
“I entrust this or something even better to be carried out with joy, for the highest good of all. Thank you.”
This expresses your willingness to be detached from the outcome and your trust for the best solution. It also ensures your gain will not deprive of anyone and the prayer shall be sent to good divinity.
Your Higher Power is waiting for your requests.
By the way, in this blog, I usually use the terms like “Higher Power” “spirit guides” fairly loosely. For now, the important thing is we accept that there are invisible spiritual beings. You have personal helpers. They (or he or she) are competent and willing. They are happy to help you. Let them by praying to them.
What do you pray for?
